For a new design focused video format TED asked thought leaders and creative innovators to identify something that has changed the world far beyond what most people realize. The series is called ‘Small Thing, Big Idea’ and each video features a different everyday object, tool, or system. Examples include the pencil, the hoodie, and the London subway map. They asked me to help create the graphics and motion design for a piece about the hyperlink – something so mundane that we often forget it is the basis of digital interactivity as we know it. I worked closely with the director Angela Cheng to craft sequences that could help visualize some of the more abstract ideas in dynamic and fun ways.
