Sonos

Sonos makes wireless Hi-Fi speakers. Bruce Mau Design created their original visual identity. After experiencing a huge growth spurt a few years later, Sonos asked Bruce Mau Design to evolve the first identity with a greater focus on music experience. The result was an even more expressive and dynamic brand that matched the transformative power of a Sonos listening experience. I was lucky enough to be a part of the entire evolution process, from start to finish, with a crew of hugely talented BMD folks. It was incredibly satisfying to work on a visual identity project where the output extended so much further than the delivery of a wordmark and style guide. We had the opportunity to see the design through to a wide array of applications which included packaging, social media, print catalogs, trade show booths, visual merchandising at retail, out of home advertising, and a website redesign. Since launching, this project has been been acknowledged by Fast Company and D&AD as well as winning a Cannes Lion.
